Connecting Social Accounts to the Friend2Friend Platform

In order for the Friend2Friend Platform to communicate with different social platforms, you have to "connect" your account to the Platform.  Once you have connected social accounts, the Platform will be able to communicate with that account to do things such as:

  • Install engagement apps on a page (Facebook)
  • Implement 'sharing' functionality inside an engagement app (share to Pinterest, etc.)
  • Aggregate statistics about engagement apps

Once a social account is connected, the account credentials will only be used for purposes you explicitly approve, and always in compliance with that social platforms' API and privacy rules.

Connecting a LinkedIn account

To use LinkedIn as a 'source' of content for SocialFusion engagement apps, as well as add LinkedIn follow buttons to LinkedIn Sweepstakes apps, you must first connect a LinkedIn account to the Platform.  You should use a LinkedIn account that has privileges for updating your own brand company page on LinkedIn.  For more details on LinkedIn as a source for SocialFusion, see "Social Content Sources."

Connecting a Jive account

To use Jive as a 'source' of content for SocialFusion engagement apps, you must first connect your Jive administrator account to the Platform.  You need to enter your Community domain, your username and your Jive password. This will allow all Jive content for your community to enter the Friend2Friend Platform and become potential content sources for a SocialFusion engagement app.  For more details on Jive as a source for SocialFusion, see "Social Content Sources."

Facebook pages and Platform pricing levels

Note that Standard pricing levels limit the number of connected Facebook pages. See the section "Friend2Friend Social Engagement Platform pricing and service levels" for details.
